Joshua Klein...The
Intelligence of Crows:
Hacker and writer Joshua Klein is fascinated by crows.
(Notice the gleam of intelligence in their little black
eyes?) After a long amateur study of corvid behavior,
he's come up with an elegant machine that may form a
new bond between animal and human. [We should strive
for MORE, mutually beneficial alliances with humans and
the animal world.] Watch

Editorial and Commentary:
I've been on this blue marble in space for over sixty-six years. This may not be the worst of economic times, but it's one that has frustrated and angered me more than any other time I can remember. Along with the cost of things, I feel that customer service has suffered. There is no more follow-up or the attempt to double check work or service. There is too much buck-passing, carelessness, and a "get it over with mentality".
People have a lack of pride in their work, and they have no reason to be loyal to a company that may lay them off at any time, or a company that pays their CEO thousands of times what a line worker makes.
What can you and I do about this? Do we call or write when service is GOOD or BAD? Do we support big merchants or the moms and pops?
What can we do to educate our friends, neighbors, children and grandchildren? |
